Charlton Kings Probus club for men meets from 9.30am today when the speaker is Richard Osler on flying for five days from Oakley Park in a small aircraft to Pajala in northern Sweden.

Next Thursday Lester Maddrell will give members an insight into the work of traffic commission­ers – an unapprecia­ted role in keeping our crowded roads safe with fair and reliable transport.

On Saturday and Sunday there is a free event at Cheltenham Saracens Rugby Club, King George V Playing Fields.

Take a deckchair and enjoy two days of live music with a variety of bands playing blues, rock and jazz. There will be food stalls and a beer tent. The Suffolks will be holding a street market this Sunday.

The Georgian Probus club for men meet from 10am on Tuesday at Sacred Hearts Church Gall. Celia Hargreave will give a talk on her experience­s of being a magistrate.

Gloucester­shire County Council has provided public notices in relation to the installati­on of a zebra crossing on Cirenceste­r Road and their proposed introducti­on of waiting restrictio­ns on various roads. Comments must be received by September 3.

The notices including the procedures for submitting comments are displayed on the board outside the parish office and background documents are available for inspection at the parish council office during normal opening hours.

An Emmanuel Fellowship Coffee Morning will be raising funds in aid of Maggie’s Centre at Emmanuel Church Hall, Fairfield Parade, Leckhampto­n on Saturday, September 1 from 10am-1pm.

Stalls will be selling books, cakes, refreshmen­ts, tombola, crafts and brica-brac.
