There will be a bric a brac sale on Saturday, September 1, from 10-11 am at Bishop’s Cleeve Seniors Club, Denley Hall. Entrance free.

Bishop’s Cleeve U3A is hosting a showcase event on Monday, September 17 from 2.15-3.30pm at Woodmancot­e Village Hall.

The event provides the opportunit­y for existing members to showcase the wide range of interest groups and the successful projects during the last year while inviting ideas for new groups.

The cancer charity Cobalt is holding the musical Glenfest at Glenfall House Saturday, September 8, 3.30–7.30pm.

And on September 14, from 11am-1pm or 1-3pm, you can help raise awareness of Cobalt by helping with a bucket collection in Asda at The Reddings in Cheltenham.

The Cobalt autumn event is at Linton House on Saturday, September 22, 10am-noon with tea, homemade cake and the launch of the charity’s Christmas Cards.

Help is also needed for lane counting or marshallin­g at the Devil’s Aquathlon at Cheltenham Lido on Sunday October 7, 7.20–11am.

Cleeve Chorale is holding a concert at St Michael and All Angels’ Church, Bishop’s Cleeve, on Saturday, November 17 at 7.30pm.

The event will commemorat­e the 100th anniversar­y of the end of the First World War with works by Brahms, Elgar, Novello and Goodall.

Tickets £10 (accompanie­d under 16s free) will be available from George Lewis Footwear, Woodmancot­e Newsagents, Gotheringt­on Stores or ring 01242 674114.

Tickets may also be purchased on the door. Refreshmen­ts will be included.

Play Gloucester­shire, funded by Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council, is hosting a session in the village from 10am-4pm on Tuesday, August 28, at Sunrise Avenue open space.

These sessions take place in all weathers. Free entry, no registrati­on required and children can come and go as they please. Under sevens must be accompanie­d by an adult.

school summer holidays? Why not try the events taking place at Bishop’s Cleeve Library.?

The library, along with the Reading Agency, is hosting the Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge with the theme a celebratio­n of the 80th anniversar­y of the Beano comic.

To join in the free events it is essential to book so call into the library to secure your place or just enjoy the many activities that are there daily.

On August 25 at 11am it is Beanotown Racing cars craft and on August 29, Beanotown clay craft 1-2pm.

Youth clubs are run by the community mentoring and support branch of the parish council.

Bishop’s Cleeve Junior Youth Club for 8-13 year olds takes place in the community centre on Tuesdays 6-8pm, admission £1.

Senior Youth Club for ages 13 and over held in the Sports Pavilion, Cheltenham Road on Monday evenings from 6.30-8.30pm.

Gotheringt­on Baby and Toddler Group are sessions held at Gotheringt­on Village Hall, Malleson Road, on Tuesdays and Fridays 9.30am-11.30am.

St Michael’s Oasis Parents and Toddler Group is in St Michael’s Centre in St Michael’s Hall, every Thursday afternoon, offering supervised play for children and opportunit­y for parents to take part in interestin­g discussion and socialise. For more informatio­n contact 07941 676161.

The Citizen’s Advice service holds sessions in the parish office on Mondays from 10am-2pm.

The library can also offer access to the service via Skype.

Cleeve Carers and Friendship group reaches out to those in the community who may not be carers but are home alone or would simply like to meet with others for friendship.

Meetings take place at 2pm at St Michael’s Hall.

Bishop’s Cleeve WI is hosting a programme of events in the Tithe Barn. All meetings start at 7.15pm.

St Michael’s Hall, hosts North Cotswold Foodbank sessions every Friday from 9.45am to 11.15am. Donations to the foodbank can be left at Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council Office, hours of opening Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9am-3pm, Wednesdays 10am-3pm.

There’s a craft fair held in Bishop’s Cleeve Community Centre (next to the Library) on the second Sunday of every month 11.30am-2.30pm. Entrance free, all welcome.

Cleeve Ladies Probus Club, all meetings take place in Bishop’s Cleeve Tithe Barn at 9.45am.
