Twin targets hit as pupils head off to exciting futures
NEWENT Community School has enjoyed another successful year with a 92 per cent pass rate at A Level and other courses.
Pupils performed well against targets based on their prior attainment.
Amber Mckenzie received two A*, an A and a D and is heading to an art foundation course in Hereford, while Harry Bloxsome achieved ABCC and will be studying biology at Bristol University.
Twin brothers Sam and Tom Isbell will take up their first choices – Sam studying psychology at Swansea University and Tom sports management at the University of Gloucestershire.
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) results were outstanding with half of pupils gaining either A* or A grades.
Dan Rowley designed and built a model of a Cumbrian house and received an unconditional offer at Plymouth University to study architecture.
Will Hunt completed his project on ADHD in primary school children and will be studying primary education in the University of Worcestershire after taking a gap year.
Among a string of individual success stories, Kezia Smith is one of a growing number of students taking up apprenticeships.
She has secured a fantastic opportu- nity at Bristol University Hospital to study dental nursing.
