King’s pupils crown year with record exam results

-

PUPILS at The King’s School, Gloucester, have been celebrating after a 99 per cent pass rate at A Level and BTEC courses.

Nine out of 10 pupils received A* to C grades in their A Levels, ensuring all who applied to university have been offered a place.

Headmaster David Morton said: “We are very proud of all our pupils who have performed exceptionally well in this year’s A Levels and BTEC courses.

“This is a reflection of their determination and commitment over the last two years.

“We are particularly delighted 12 per cent of all grades were A* and more than a fifth of our pupils achieved an A* or A in all of the A Levels they took.

“We wish these wonderful pupils every success as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.”

There were strong individual performances from Miao Xu (two A* and two As), Leon Klee (three A* and an A) and Sunny Memon (three As) while Anne Naybour, Conor Horlock and Joseph Freeman achieved a clean sweep of D* in their Sports Science BTEC course.

The King’s School offers BTEC Sports Studies alongside its range of more than 20 A-level subjects.

In the BTEC, 75 per cent of pupils achieved the highest level of three starred Distinctions – equivalent to three A* grades at A Level.

Eighty per cent of pupils are heading to their first choice university.
