Take the chance to witness successful school in action

-

RATED by the 2018 Real Schools Guide as the top boys’ school in the county and ranked second in the country, Sir Thomas Rich’s, Gloucester, is a progressive grammar school for boys in Years 7-11, and young men and women in the Sixth Form.

Judged as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, we are consistently one of the highest-attaining schools in the county and in the UK.

And we are proud of our long-standing reputation for academic and sporting excellence.

Sir Thomas Rich’s attracts high-ability pupils who work hard and aspire to achieve the best results they can.

Accomplished teachers use their skills and in-depth subject knowledge to inspire, encourage and support pupils in their journey through the school, laying firm foundations for academic excellence at GCSE, Sixth Form and beyond.

In 2017, 71 per cent of pupils achieved GCSE grade A* or A (9-7) and 94 per cent achieved A* to B (9-6).

We believe pupils thrive in an atmosphere of respect, care and support.

Teachers and support staff work hard to promote this ethos and to make sure every pupil feels they are a valued member of the school community.

High-quality pastoral support is key to this aim and we work closely with parents to develop positive relationships with families and help pupils to achieve their full potential.

Our curriculum extends beyond timetabled lessons and students have access to excellent extra-curricular activities.

These range from clubs which develop their interests and talents to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme and subject field trips designed to increase self-confidence and to enhance learning in the classroom.

Activities are run by our experienced and knowledgeable staff and aim to foster interest and skills in a diverse range of areas, from chess and coding to drama and debating.
