It’s A for Amy as pupils produced excellent set of exam results

AMY Williams was the star performer among many as Chosen Hill pupils amasses a successful set of A-level results.

Year 13 pupils secure a 98 per cent pass rate across a range of courses with maths, history, English literature, drama and business performing particular­ly well.

Amy collected three A grades in maths, further maths and physics, together with a B in music.

She is deferring her study of engineerin­g and maths at Bristol University to start a civil engineerin­g apprentice­ship with Simpson Associates.

Amy is the first recipient of the Community, Action and Scholarshi­p at Chosen Hill Baccalaure­ate (CAS@CH Bac) at gold level, which celebrates outstandin­g contributi­on to the school and wider community as well as academic achievemen­t.

Kieran Allen achieved A* in maths, A in physics and B in chemistry ahead of a planned gap year before deciding on his university course.

Polly-mae Ashby completed five full qualificat­ions with a double Distinctio­n star in Sports Btec, Bs in Sociology and Geography and a C in Psychology.

She will be studying geography at the University of Gloucester­shire and will receive a Silver CAS@CH Bac award.

Jordan Barsby has earned a place at Lancaster University to study psychol- ogy having achieved A grades in psychology and maths, plus a B in chemistry.

Hannah Pinnock, who achieved a Distinctio­n star in ICT along with an A in geography and B in sociology, has a place at Plymouth University to study geography with internatio­nal relations.

Emily Smith is going to Cardiff Met to study graphic communicat­ion having achieved an A in fine art, B in English literature and Distinctio­n star in ICT.

She also receives a Silver CAS@CH Bac award.

Kate Harvey is completing a charity working year in Honduras before taking up her place to study environmen­tal science at Plymouth University, James Howse has a full-time place competing with Team GB in archery, Reuben Burrows will be following his dream to studying dance and musical theatre at Guildford School of Acting and Rosie Humphris will be studying law at Bristol University.

Pupils’ performanc­es in the Extended Project Qualificat­ion were also impressive.

Anna Smith and Sophie Temple both achieved A*s while Alexandra Ashdown, Thomas Morrisey, Harvey Sullivan and Lauren Worgan all were awarded A grades.
