Bell, Campbell and Sackett find the winning formula

IT was a good week for Cirenceste­r athletes with fine wins for Dave Bell, Ollie Campbell and Kate Sackett.

At the Two Tunnels 10km in Bath, and following his win and course record last week at the Cirenceste­r parkrun, Dave Bell won the race in style with a time of 33.18.

Meanwhile at the Alchester 5k in Oxfordshir­e, David Wright put in a strong performanc­e with a fast 18.52 but was pipped into a second agegroup place finishing 45th overall. Kate Fitton ran 25.50.

The Westonbirt 10km attracted 662 runners with Alex Shea of CAC finishing 64th in 44.45.

At parkruns, juniors Henry and Archie Sheffield were fourth and ninth overall in Cirenceste­r, Lee Lawrence was seventh and Gordon Jones won his age group.

At Chippenham Ollie Campbell cruised to a comfortabl­e win with a time of 18.33, while in Stonehouse Sackett was sixth overall and first lady with a time of 21.08. Jacob Mcadam, 20.00, was a first-timer at Colchester Castle and at Yeovil Montacute Helen Manners clocked 32.16.

Worcester Pitchcroft saw Caroline Cotterell finish third lady and joint 23rd in 20.44 the same time as her partner Nick Holliday.
