» A number of businesses in Bishop’s Cleeve will start to re-open in the coming weeks. As a result please be aware social distancing measures have been implemented on Church Street.

» Bishop’s Cleeve Foodbank. The foodbank in Bishop’s Cleeve has seen a big rise in demand.
Grateful thanks to those remaining local volunteers who have provided extra cover to run this service as more than half of the existing volunteers are now self-isolating following the latest guidelines.
Besides local volunteers, there are also volunteers working at Guiting Power Central warehouse doing extra shifts processing donations and preparing food parcels.
Please can you take any donations to the only open local collection point, currently at Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Office (next to Tesco’s car park), any Friday morning between 9am and noon. Thank you for your generosity supporting local people who don’t have the money and are really struggling to feed their families at this time.

The Co-op on the Green is also taking donations for the foodbank.
Lidl Supermarket also has a food bank collection point in store.
» The Original Factory Shop has re-opened, and is operating social distancing in accordance with Government Guidelines. Monday – aturday 9am-5.30pm, Sunday 10am4pm.
» Hayles Fruit Farm just outside Winchcombe. Their shop is open every day from 10am-4.30pm apart from Mondays. For the moment, the Orchard Tea Room and Camp Site are closed.

The Court Farm Shop at Stoke Orchard is open. They are providing a limited delivery service to the over 70s but are extremely busy at the moment and are only taking orders via email for delivery after April 13.

Cleeve Dry Cleaners are open on: Tuesdays, 10am–3pm; Thursdays, 10am– 3pm; Saturdays, 10am–3pm. There is an emergency telephone number on 07771 888 292.

The Church Road Butcher is closed on Monday and Wednesday afternoon and is open all other normal times.
The Launderette in Bishops’ Cleeve is open all day.
Webbs Garden Centre has re-opened. Restrictions are in place.
The restaurant and clothing department will continue to be temporarily closed to adhere to government guidelines.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the centre will not be open for browsing from 10 -10.30am on Sundays. Store opening hours may be subject to adverse weather conditions. Bank Holiday opening times are 10am - 6pm.
Danny’s Café has opened, offering a service in line with Government restrictions.
» The Cobalt Cancer Service are making their mobile CT scanners available to NHS England to support patients with the coronavirus, cancer and other urgent health conditions.
The mobile CT scanners will be staffed by our radiographers and we may support the new field hospitals. The Imaging Centres in Cheltenham and Birmingham will provide urgent scans for cancer patients to enable them to continue with their treatment.
» To All, Cobalt Centre Volunteers. In line with current advice, we have unfortunately decided to close Linton House from March 16 to all but essential personnel during the crisis. » The Deerhurst Flower Festival was due to take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend – from Saturday to Monday, August 29 to 31.
It has been decided to postpone the festival. We hope it will now take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend next year instead, but look for confirmation in this column and on the Flower Festival website deerhurstflower festival.com
» These are of course very strange times but hopefully we will be able to look back and see the positives as well as the negatives.
Our churches are shut at the moment, even for private visits and prayers.
To help make up for this, the Severnside Benefice, of which we are a part, will meet weekly on Zoom every Sunday at 11am.
