Man jailed for stealing jewellery and games console in burglary

A CHELTENHAM man has been jailed after stealing more than £1,100 worth of jewellery and a Sony games console in a burglary.

Christophe­r Cooper, 45, of Trinity School Lane, Cheltenham, broke into a flat in Church Road on November 16, 2019 and has now been been jailed for two years and four months.

He admitted at Gloucester Crown Court to committing the burglary in the town.

The 45 year-old was charged with one count of burglary before being remanded in police custody. He pleaded guilty to the offence.

Officers recovered some of the computer games, but were unable to locate the jewellery.

Investigat­ing officer PC Kimberley Murphy from the Cheltenham Local Investigat­ion team said: “This result came about through dedication and inspiring teamwork.

“It is so rewarding to know this offender is off the streets and to get the justice for the victims that they wholeheart­edly deserve.”
