Why the surprise at Government actions?

✒ STEVE Clark is shocked at the government’s lack of integrity in handling of housing minister Robert Jenrick’s involvement in the Westberry planning case (letters, Echo July 9).

Unfortunately, the lack of principles implied is far from unusual.

Our PM thinks nothing of spending £60m of public money on non-tendered for plans for a garden bridge that was never built, and Ayanda Capital, a firm with no experience of manufacturing, is granted a £250m contract to make PPE equipment, also without competitive tendering.
