Shah top scores as Extras edge home in thrilling club clash

CIRENCESTE­R CC played two intraclub games at the Park, with the firsts facing the seconds and the thirds taking on the Extras.

The latter game was a thriller, with the Extras winning by five runs on the last ball of a 40-over game.

They scored 156 for eight with Kamlesh Shah top-scoring with 50 before retiring not out. The wickets were shared around with two each for Declan Rugg, Rufus Longsdon and Aden Vaughan.

Nick Hall top-scored in the third XI’S reply with 26 but despite 43 extras, three run-outs contribute­d to the win for the Extras side.

The other game saw the firsts skittled for 58 by the second XI, who won by five wickets.

Extras, with 23, and Jonnie Gunn, who made 19, reached double figures as Jono Jamieson-black finished with remarkable figures of four for three from 3.4 overs.

In reply Jamieson-black made 23 and Alex Binnie 14 as the seconds won, despite three wickets for Gunn.
