-

» FORMER Cheltenham Town captain Paul Collicutt is returning to Bishop’s Cleeve as manager following the departure of Steve Cleal to Cinderford Town

Collicutt spent 12 years at Cleeve, leading them into the Southern League for the first time, before spells as Evesham United boss and Stratford Town’s director of football

Cleal was in charge at Kayte Lane for six years, and he replaces Paul Michael at The Causeway.

Michael has taken over at Southern League Premier Division side Yate Town.

Chairman Stuart Tait said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with Sooty, our paths have crossed many times.

“We had some exciting applications for the vacancy but what convinced both the recruitment panel and myself was the enthusiasm and passion to take on the job and drive this club forward.”

Cleal said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to manage such a great club and look forward to building on the foundations that have been put in place. I’ve admired what has been done at this club in the past and I am ready to write the next chapter.”

“It would have to be something special for me to leave Cleeve and this is certainly that.

“I cannot wait to get going and I look forward to combining my passion and enthusiasm with that of the fans and the club and seeing where the journey can take us.”

Meanwhile, ex-robins midfielder Chris Burns and physio Allen Gough are the new management team at Hellenic Leaguers Stonehouse Town.
