Charlton Kings Film Society say that due to Covid restrictio­ns films cannot be shown at Sacred Hearts Church Hall during the next few months.

A VIRTUAL meeting of the Planning Committee will be held at 7pm on Monday, September 21. Members of the public are welcome to attend virtually. Contact the Clerk by noon on the day of the meeting to request an invitation or email clerk@ charltonki­ngsparishc­ouncil.gov.uk. Invitation­s will not be issued after the start of the meeting.

Police are warning residents to be wary of people offering services doorto-door after a man was scammed out of £1,500 for a 10 minute gardening job. They worked on his driveway for 10 minutes before departing in what is to be believed a white van which was parked nearby in the area of Maple Drive/willow Road. Anyone with informatio­n about the incident is asked to complete a crime report form on the Gloucester­shire police website. Please make your elderly or vulnerable friends, relatives and neighbours aware of this type of scam. If you feel pressured by any cold caller, say no and close the door. charities or community groups to improve the lives of people or the environmen­t in which they live. Community Basic Life-saving and Defibrilla­tor training will take place on Saturday October 24 at Stanton Hall. This course is free and is run by the South Western Ambulance Service who maintain the defibrilla­tor on the wall of the Parish Office in Church Piece, Charlton Kings. The Sue Ryder “Walk to Remember” event on October 17 is a 5 or 10k walk in memory of a loved one to support Sue Ryder’s work at Leckhampto­n Court Hospice.
