Charlton Kings Parish Council has taken the difficult decision to defer a Community Open Meeting which had been scheduled for tonight in the light of recent safety guidance issued in relation to COVID-19.

The Parish Council’s Community Open Meetings provide an opportunit­y for local residents to meet their Councillor­s, hear about the work of the Council and to provide input in relation to local issues.

The council is considerin­g the timing, format and focus of the deferred meeting in the context of emerging COVID-19 guidance, and an update will be provided in due course.

The Parish Council regret that due to a re-assessment of the COVID-19 risks South Western Ambulance Service has decided to cancel the Basic Life Saving and Defibrilla­tor Awareness session which was to have taken place in the Stanton Hall this Saturday.

It is hoped that the session can be re-scheduled in early 2021.

Further informatio­n will be posted on the Charlton Kings Parish Council website in due course.

There will be a Full Parish Council meeting held virtually on Monday at 7pm.

All members of the public are welcome to attend virtually.

It is time for the T4U Shoebox Appeal when Christmas boxes are taken abroad for Romanian orphans. Collection points will be: Charlton Kings Baptist Church from Monday, November 2, to Friday, November 6 daily from 10am to 3pm.

Salem Baptist Church on Friday November 13, from 10am to 2pm and Saturday November 14, from 10am to 3pm.

The Parish Council has funding available to support projects run by charities or community groups to improve the lives of local people or the environmen­t in which they live.

Grants generally start from £100 and the applicatio­n process is very straightfo­rward.

Guidelines and an applicatio­n form can be downloaded from the Community Grant page on the parish council website.
