Where speed cameras will be this month

-

ROADS may be quieter in November but don’t be tempted to take advantage of empty roads and put your foot down.

Mobile speed detection vans will be out on key roads to ensure motorists obey the speed limit - or are caught flouting it.

Sites in Quedgeley, Gloucester, the Forest of Dean, Stroud area, and the Cotswolds are all listed as priority sites for November.

We publish these locations, which are publicly available, in a bid to reduce accidents.

The seven priority sites for The Camera Enforcement Team in November are:

Waterwells Drive, Quedgeley; Secunda Way, Gloucester; A38 Newport; A40 Huntley; A4151 Littledean; A40 Sherborne; A433 Didmarton

The mobile speed vans are operated by Gloucestershire police, and support the Police and Crime Commissioners’ Plan priority ‘safe and social driving’.

The mobile speed detection vans operate at over 80 sites across the county and prioritise site activity by examining speed and accident data including intelligence received from communities.

In an effort to reduce speeding in areas across the county, the priority sites will be advertised each month.

Visits to the other sites will continue but emphasis will be placed on the advertised locations.

And it’s not just the mobile ones you have to be aware of as there are also a number of community priority sites.

Some of the community priority sites (location and speed limits) include: Prestbury Road, Cheltenham (30mph); Tommy Taylors Lane,

Cheltenham (30); Church Road, Leckhampton (30); The Reddings, Cheltenham (30); Warden Hill Road, Cheltenham (30); Leckhampton Road, Cheltenham (30); Stoke Road, Tredington (30); Gretton Road, Prescott (60); Down Hatherley Lane, Down Hatherley (30); Boddington Lane, Staverton (30); B4014 Long Newnton (30); A433 London Road, Tetbury (40); B4014 Hampton Street, Tetbury (30); A417 London Road, Cirencester (30); A361 Station Road, Lechlade (30); B4035 Station Road, Chipping Campden (30); A429 Moreton in Marsh (30); A44 Bourton on The Hill (30); A417 St John’s Street, Lechlade (30); Lobleys Drive, Abbeymead (30); Upton Lane, Abbeymead (30); Heron Way, Abbeydale (30); The Wheatway, Abbeymead (30); Sandhurst Lane, Gloucester (30)
