Polledri is voted player of the year by supporters
JAKE Polledri has been awarded the Stowford Press 2019-20 Player of the Season, following a public vote by supporters.
Polledri has been a stand-out player featuring in 1125 minutes of the 2019-20 season.
The Italian internationals statistics speak for themselves, with 81 defenders beaten across the season.
Polledri initially joined Gloucester in 2017 from Hartpury RFC, and despite primarily featuring at flanker for the majority of his career, the explosive back-rower put in a number of impressive performances under new Head Coach George Skivington in the number eight position following the resumption of the suspended season.
In a video meassage to Gloucester fans he said: “Thanks to everyone who took the time out to vote. It’s been a strange old season but I know the players have really appreciated the support.
“We can’t wait to have Kingsholm back at full ranks, making as much noise and shouting as much abuse as possible.”
Winger Louis Rees-zammit was named as the 2019-20 Young Player of the Season.
Rees-zammit, 19, enjoyed a free scoring season scoring 10 tries in the Gallagher Premiership and three tries in the Heineken Champions Cup pool stage.
The flying Welshman, made his debut towards the end of the 2018-19 campaign, before enjoying a breakthrough season.
Rees-zammit has picked up numerous achievements so far in his career including becoming Gloucester’s youngest ever Premiership player, youngest ever player in a European match, and the youngest player ever to score a hat-trick in the Premiership.
To top off a fine season, Louis made his Wales debut in France 12 days ago.
