A time for magic...

-

» THIS Christmas will be like no other and will become part of history.

The festive season is a time for family and friends, a time to come together and celebrate.

This year enjoying this most wonderful time of the year may be different but it can still be magical.

After a year of lockdown and often isolation our lives have been made smaller as a result of the Covid19 restrictions.

The end of lockdown 2 this week and the move into Tier 2 for Gloucester allows tables and chairs to return to The Cheltenham Trust’s outdoor takeaway cafes at the Heritage Café at Pittville Pump Room and the Garden Bar Marquee and the new Skillicorne Garden Marquee in Imperial Gardens.

As these are outdoor spaces groups of up to six people can meet together in a safe covid compliant environment. Who would have thought that this time last year that being able to meet a small group of friends, sitting in an outdoor cafe, wrapped up warmly enjoying a hot chocolate or mulled wine and a festive treat among the twinkly Christmas trees at the pump room would become a sought after outing for Christmas 2020.

Christmas and New Year parties may not be on the cards this year, but there’s still the opportunity to enjoy music as free live entertainment returns to the Garden Bar Marquee from this evening, getting the festive season underway with music every weekend up to the big day, and there will be the sound of carols from choirs at the pump room to remind us its Christmas.

It may not be like festive seasons of the past but this Christmas will have its own magic. It will be different, but let’s look ahead to better times and enjoy the spirit and uniqueness of this year and the enchantment of being outdoors with those we love.
