THE Christmas pantomime is a yearly tradition that fills so many families with joys and smiles. There were fears that this year the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham would not be able to host Tweedy and the gang.

But don’t worry, we’re here to say that the show must go on, and going on it is.

Tweedy’s Reduced Pantomime opened on Friday December 4 and it’s set to be a lot of fun.

The team behind the Everyman’s annual family friendly favourite have created an all new, reduced capacity, socially distanced show.

Tweedy will return with his hilarious hi-jinks and returning favourites Kane Verrall (Dandini) and Kevin Brewis (Ugly Sister) from Cinderella will star too.

Of course there are a few things to be aware of that will be fundamentally different to what you’re used to, but it will still be fundamentally fun.

When you visit the theatre this Christmas there are a few things you should be aware of before you arrive.

Due to reduced capacity tickets are strictly limited to two per person and that this will be a socially-distanced performance with pod-seating.

There are enhanced protocols in place to adhere to social distancing guidelines and welcome audiences back in a safe and secure environment. » Everything you need to know:

» The Regent Arcade Car Park will be open but the entrance to the theatre from the car park will not be in use.

» Please enter the theatre via the Regent Street entrances.

» The auditorium will be open from 40 minutes prior to showtime - there may be queues to enter the theatre on arrival.

» Interval drink orders can be made in advance.

» Visitors seated in the Stalls are asked to enter via the main (central) entrance.

» Visitors seated in the Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony are asked to enter through the side entrance (closest to the High Street).

» Upon arrival please be aware of additional signage and instructions which will be given by theatre staff.

» Please adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times

» Staff will be conducting temperature checks on arrival.

» Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the building.

» Staff will be wearing face coverings and all visitors are asked to wear a suitable face covering when visiting the theatre.

» When seated in the auditorium you will be seated socially distanced from other guests.

» You may remove your face covering to enjoy food and drink.

» Please take care to occupy only the seats purchased for your party.

» The ticket purchasers’ details will be stored for Test and Trace purposes - details will be held in accordance with data security guidelines.

» To avoid congestion, we ask that all guests remain seated at the end of the performance until directed to exit by our front of house staff.

» Please do not take your own food and drink into the auditorium.

» Due to the need for increased ventilation the auditorium may be colder than under usual circumstances.

» Please be aware of your personal circumstances with regard to the Tier system and follow the advice given for your specific area of residence.

» If you have any further queries, contact the Box Office on 01242 572573 or email stage.door@everymantheatre. org.uk

The show will run, every day except Christmas Day and New Years Day until Sunday January 3, 2021.
