Make a date! Time to look ahead to town’s rich feast of festival fun
THE Cheltenham Festivals charity has announced next year’s dates for its popular events. This year saw the organisers of the town’s famous arts and science celebrations – including the Literature Festival and the Jazz Festival – having to reschedule and reorganise as a result of the pandemic.
Now the organisers have revealed the dates that you need to save for next year’s events:
Cheltenham Jazz Festival
One of Europe’s leading jazz festivals, it features international headline acts, cutting-edge music and unique collaborations.
It will take place next year from Wednesday April 28 to Monday May 3.
Visit the website at www.cheltenhamfestivals.com/jazz.
Cheltenham Science Festival
This will take place from Thursday June 10 to Sunday June 13.
The festival will explore the theme ‘Be The Change’, combining in-person and online events to show how science is shaping our future.
The schools and family programme will be available digitally for free, while hands-on activities will be presented in a safe, socially-distanced environment for people of all ages.

Cheltenham Music Festival
This will run from Friday July 2 to Friday July 9 and will celebrate the best of British music, with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, New English Ballet Theatre and the UK’S finest soloists.
There will be talks from industry leaders and an opening weekend of free music outdoors, with a wealth of artists covering Western classical music and beyond.

The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival
This has been pencilled in for Friday October 8 to Sunday October 17.
Still leading the way in celebrating the written and spoken word, the world’s first literature festival will ‘Read the World’, presenting the best new voices in fiction and poetry alongside literary greats and high-profile speakers.
The Festival’s pioneering mix of inperson and online events won it a coveted Futurebook 2020: Best Lockdown Event award, and its Literature for Schools programme inspires a love of books in thousands of schoolchildren.
