Let’s get creative in 2022
THIS year The Cheltenham Trust hosted its first Christmas artisan market at Pittville Pump Room showcasing the best of creatives, independent makers and producers that Cheltenham and Gloucestershire has to offer.
Over four days in November and December, the artisan market brought Christmas shopping with a difference to the pump room, from hand-made, home-made and locally produced homewares and textiles, arts and crafts, jewellery and accessories, to seasonal produce and specialist wines and spirits.
Visitors to the artisan market were able to support the wealth of local creative talent, and the local economy, by shopping locally.
This first artisan market proved so popular with visitors and creatives and makers that the market will become a regular event in 2022 with a monthly Sunday market at the pump room.
The first general artisan market will be on Sunday 13 February 2022, and the Christmas themed market will return in November to coincide with the switch on of the festive lights and trees at the pump room on Thursday 24 November 2022, and for bespoke Christmas shopping on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December 2022.
The call is now going out to the creative community, if you would like to showcase your products and to be part of this popular new monthly cultural event, please register your interest now.
Places are limited and there has already been strong interest in stands so early registration is advised.

The 2022 market dates are: Sunday 13 February 2022, Sunday 6 March 2022, Sunday 24 April 2022, Sunday 22 May 2022, Sunday 26 June 2022, Sunday 24 July 2022, Sunday 14 August 2022, Sunday 18 September 2022 and Sunday 23 October 2022.
The trust has breathed new life into the pump room which has totally revitalised and is now established as a popular visitor destination with café culture at its heart through the Heritage Deco Café orangery which is open daily.
The addition of the artisan market to the trust’s growing cultural programme brings yet more reason for the local community, and visitors from further afield, to visit and enjoy the pump room and all it has to offer.
