Appeal for witnesses after man is robbed by trio by knifepoint

A MAN was robbed at knifepoint by a trio of men wearing balaclavas in Cheltenham, with designer clothes and accessorie­s stolen.

The victim was walking with two friends on Alstone Road in the St Peters area of the town, at around 4.45am on April 12, when they were approached by three men.

Police understand one member of the group was threatened with a knife while the robbers demanded that valuable designer clothing and accessorie­s were handed over.

Items including a D Squared branded cap, silver chain, grey puffer jacket and Hugo Boss watch were taken.

The offenders then ran from the scene towards Gloucester Road.

The victim was not injured and the other people with him were not targeted.

Gloucester­shire Constabula­ry has released an appeal for anyone with informatio­n or footage of the robbery to come forward.

Descriptio­ns have also been issued of the gang involved.

The statement said: “Police were called with a report that the victim and two friends were walking along Alstone Croft at around 4.45am when they were approached by a group of three men who threatened them with a knife.

“Two of the group demanded that the victim handed over items of designer clothing including a D Squared branded cap, silver chain, grey puffer jacket and Hugo Boss Watch whilst holding the knife towards him.

“The victim was not injured in the incident and his friends were not targeted.

“The offenders were described as being white and wore dark clothing with balaclavas. They ran off towards Gloucester Road.

“Investigat­ing officers are asking anyone who witnessed this, has informatio­n or any Cctv/dashcam footage to please come forward. Informatio­n can be submitted by completing the form online at gloucester­shire.police.uk and quoting incident number 42 of April 12.

“Alternativ­ely, you can call 101 and quote the same incident number.”
