Charlton Kings Senior Citizens Group are offering Monday Afternoon Teas from 1.30-3pm in the Stanton rooms next to the Library and cost is £4.

The Thursday Lunch club is now running again offering a 2 course hot lunch for Charlton Kings senior residents also in the Stanton rooms from 11.25am to 2pm. Cost is £4 and to book for either occasion please telephone Ian 01242 250591

All Charlton Kings residents are welcome to join the Annual Parish and Community Open meeting tonight, Thursday April 21, in Stanton Hall from 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Chairman of the Parish Council, Cllr Rob Williams will be there to welcome you and feedback on what has been happening at the Parish Council over the last 12 months. There is a long slot for residents to speak to the meeting and ask questions and then after a break with snacks and drinks you can move around the room and talk to different Councillor­s about the various work and projects that are currently happening.

The councillor­s are really keen to involve more volunteers in various projects and those councillor­s leading on the different projects will be on hand to speak to you and explain where help is needed and what roles are available. This event is suitable for all ages and everyone is welcome to speak.

Charlton Kings Friendship Group meet for their AGM at 10am tomorrow, Friday April 22, in the Baptist Church. This will be followed by tea and homemade cakes and Phil Hambling is booked to sing and entertain members. Due to covid restrictio­ns of the previous year the AGM will be shortened.

On Friday, April 29 CK Friendship Group are celebratin­g St George’s Day with a meal at Lilley Brook Golf Club starting at 12.30pm for those members who have booked and paid. Numbers have to be submitted by April 22 so if anyone else wishes to attend then please contact the secretary before that date.
