Triumph for trio in Queen’s Awards 2022

THREE Gloucester­shire companies have won Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2022. The accolades are the top gongs for British businesses and have been handed out each year on the Queen’s birthday since 1966.

A total of 232 businesses across the UK were presented with awards in the categories of Internatio­nal Trade (141), Innovation (51), Sustainabl­e Developmen­t (31) and Promoting Opportunit­y (9).

The awards are valid for five years, with the winners permitted to fly the Queen’s Awards flag at their main office and use the emblem on their marketing materials.

The Queen’s Lord Lieutenant­s will present the awards to businesses locally throughout the year.

Here, we take a closer look at this year’s winners from across Gloucester­shire.

» Synalogik Innovative Solutions, Tewkesbury and Cheltenham

The tech company has won a Queen’s Award for Innovation.

Establishe­d in 2018, Synalogik has developed an automated data aggregatio­n, cleansing, and risk-scoring platform for intelligen­ce and investigat­ion teams.

The platform - known as Scout - is used by law enforcemen­t agencies,

Government department­s, banks, gambling companies and insurance firms.

» Christie Internatio­nal, South Woodcheste­r

The firm has won a Queen’s Award for Internatio­nal Trade for outstandin­g short-term growth in overseas sales over the last three years.

The business, establishe­d in 2002, provides a complete export management service for UK food and non-food SMES which do not have a dedicated export department of their own.

Over the three years to November 2020 its overseas sales have grown by 65 per cent.

All sales are to overseas markets, and have grown on average by almost 30 per cent a year.

In 2020 the company exported products to 30 countries, including South Africa, UAE, USA, Malaysia and Turkey and Liberia.

» LB Bentley, Stroud

The engineerin­g company has been trading since 1972, designing and manufactur­ing filters and desiccant dryers. It also designs and supplies small bore subsea valves and actuators to the oil and gas industry.

The business has won an award for Internatio­nal Trade for outstandin­g short-term growth in overseas sales.

LB Bentley saw Internatio­nal sales grow by 75 per cent in the three-year period with top markets including the US, Brazil, Malaysia, Norway and Germany.
