Join trust as we help community rebuild

- » with Sara Oliver from The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum, Cheltenham

» AS the lead provider of culture and leisure in Cheltenham, The Cheltenham Trust manages the town’s iconic venues, Pittville Pump Room, The Wilson Museum and Art Gallery, Cheltenham Town Hall, Leisure at Cheltenham and the Prince of Wales sports and events bar and stadium.

The trust’s vision is to blend community and culture to contribute actively to the local and visitor economy and to improve the health and wellbeing of the local community.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic the trust’s ethos has been to focus on putting the community at the heart of everything it has done, supporting the health and wellbeing of Cheltenham at a time when it was challenged as never before. Now opportunities to bring the community together have returned. This summer will see the trust, working with Cheltenham Borough Council, host the lighting of Cheltenham’s beacon at Pittville Pump Room on June 2, to commemorate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The two-day picnic and party in the park promise to be the largest, free jubilee community celebration in Cheltenham. Later in June (24 to 26), the trust hosts the first Retro Americana festival, marking the 80th anniversary of the American forces arriving at Pittville Pump Room in 1942.

The trust is seeking to recruit exceptional people to join as trustees to play a key role in supporting the not-for-profit, independent charity’s ambitious growth plans.

An open recruitment day is being held on May 19 when visitors will be able to meet current trustees to find out more about the role and the trust. Staff will also be available at the event, which is open between 10am and 8pm at Pittville Pump Room.

The trust is committed to equality and diversity and welcomes applications from all members of the community, particularly from those currently under-represented, including young people, people with disabilities and people from minority ethnic groups.

This is a great time to join this dynamic, forward-thinking organisation and to make a contribution to Cheltenham as it continues to rebuild and recover after living through history. To find out more, visit www.cheltenhamtrust.org. uk/trustees-recruitment/
