THE battle to avoid relegation from Division One of the Northern Senior League saw Woolaston, Bredon and Andoversford pick up valuable wins to lift their survival hopes.

On Tuesday, Lewis Bamford scored all four as Woolaston beat Lydney Town Reserves 4-3, after they went down 2-0 to goals from Upton St Leonards’ Craig Cambridge and Lewis Newell on Saturday.

Andoversford are on the cusp of safety with a 4-1 win at Charfield, Jake Berry, Kurtis Burrows, Kai Mahon and an own goal their scorers.

Mahon and Ergys Berisha had earned Ford a 2-2 draw at Charlton Rovers on Saturday, Riley Butt and James Coulthard replying for Rovers, who are six points clear of the drop and just about safe.

On Saturday, Bredon won 3-0 at Brockworth Albion, Sam Byde scoring twice and Sam Lee getting the other.

They are five clear of the drop line, as are Brockworth, who went down 1-0 at home to Berkeley on Tuesday and need one win to be certain of safety.
