Bar set to re-open after £250,000 revamp
A REVAMPED cocktail bar in Cheltenham is to have a new Instagramfriendly photo area. For those keen on posting snaps on social media as they relax with friends, the new addition to Revolution will be right up their street.
The venue in Clarence Parade is undergoing a £249,000 makeover and is set to reopen tonight, Thursday June 2.
A former church, the bar has long been a popular spot for revellers in the town centre.
There are subtle hints towards the building’s former life as a church, including original artwork and a repurposed church pew. There is also a photo moment area and a larger dance floor.
The jewel in the crown is the ultraexclusive Best Seat in the House area, which comprises five VIP tables.
The area boasts leather seating, a living ceiling and the perfect lighting for those impromptu photoshoots.
Other changes include specially commissioned murals in the lobby, which bleed out into the street once the doors are open.
Inside, the redesign will feature special effect LED lighting suspended from the ceiling, laser cut back-lit metal screens in the private booths and bespoke 3D sculptures.
A relaunch party will take place on Saturday, with a Heaven and Hell theme and a host of surprises. It will be free, with guests able to enjoy complimentary food and drink samples.
General manager Adam Moody said: “We’ve always been proud to be part of one of the most beautiful Revolution bars in the portfolio, and the refurb takes it to new heights. It’s going to be stunning.
“The setting has given us the perfect canvas to create something special, and that’s exactly what we’ve done. “With the Jubilee celebrations coming in the same week we’re reopening, we couldn’t have picked a better time.”
