Lue fires winner as Robins beat league leaders

» UNA Lue struck the only goal of the game as Cheltenham Town took all three points from FA Women’s National League, Southern Premier leaders Hashtag United.

A cagey opening 45 minutes saw the sides level at the break, but Cheltenham captain Emily Owen produced a goal line clearance two minutes into the second half.

Lue broke the deadlock with 15 minutes to go with a clinical low driven strike and the resilient Robins held out.

Gloucester City also took a 1-0 win in the SW Regional Women’s League, Northern Division, with Kally Lloyd’s 23rd minute effort enough to see City edge past league leaders Weston-super-mare to close the gap between the sides to four points and end Weston’s unbeaten start to the season.

Bishop’s Cleeve and Cheltenham Civil Service were victorious in County Women’s

League, Division One, with four goals for Leonie Gough helping Cleeve to a 6-0 win over bottom side Longwell Green.

Rebecca Harris and an own goal completed their tally, while Civil Service beat AEK Boco Reserves 3-1, Jessica Brown scoring twice and Jade Hamlet getting the other.

Whitchurch were awarded a walkover by Tuffley Rovers, while in Division Two Abbeymead Rovers lost 5-1 at Mangotsfie­ld United Reserves, Paige Marsh with the Rovers goal.

There were big wins in Division Three with leaders Bitton Developmen­t beating Kingswood 15-0, while second-placed City of Gloucester were 10-0 winners over University of Bristol .with two goals apiece for Kelly Adams and Lilli-mae Owen and one for Melissa Devereux, Holly Smith,

Yazmin Summers, Sophie Vincent, Olivia Powell and Katie Carrington-stait.

Josie Baldwin and Bethany Cole hit hat-tricks as Mitcheldea­n SC beat Ashton Keynes 10-0, Violet Williams (two), Steph Davis-hyde and an own goal completing the tally.

Ellwood were 8-0 winners over Andoversfo­rd, Lisa Morphey scoring twice with one each for Michaela Dowle, Hayley Mcgeouch, Tia Watts, Destinee Dorrington and Tara Rutter, plus an own goal.

In the Gordon Perrett League Cup, Leah Rhodes scored six times as Cheltenham Saracens won 15-0 at Downend Flyers Developmen­t.

Sophie Sharpe scored a hat-trick with Jordan Burrows (two), Laura Mcglade, Claire Bromley, Hannah Galpin and an own goal getting the others.
