Edward shines with Pendock victory

BOURTON Roadrunner­s were out in force at a range of events, including Run Pendock’s 10K, 5K and 1K options, with the 10K forming part of the club’s competitio­n series.

Five members opted for the 5K race, with junior Edward Hare finishing first in 20.57, while junior Pippa Krzywiec was the first female, sixth overall, in 24:48.

Margaret Hollamby was first senior woman (LV65/1) in 29:22 while husband and wife Patrick and Julie Smith finished in 39:55 and 39:56 respective­ly.

The 10K had 20 Bourton runners, led by Tim Carter, seventh in 42:26 followed by Dougal Hamilton-smith in 47:46, Derek Darby 49:16 and Rebecca Townsend, the first senior woman in 50:28.

Jaq Underwood and Claire Carroll took on the Bath Half Marathon,

Underwood finishing in 1:48.23 and Carroll in 2:17:29.

Kevin Goodwill ran The Big Cheese at Cheddar, Somerset, a 15 mile off-road fell race across the Mendip Hills, and Susan Hunt conquered The Grizzly; a 20 mile challenge in East Devon, in 5:16.26.
