Smith strikes winner in top-of-the-table clash

» LEE Smith’s winner gave Tredworth Tigers a 3-2 win over Longlevens Reserves as they opened up a five-point lead at the top of Northern Senior League Division One.

Nick Hill scored Tigers’ other two goals, with Matt Emmett and Alex Knight replying for secondplac­ed Levens, who have two games in hand.

Dursley are third, level on points with Longlevens, and with a game in hand on Tigers, after they drew 1-1 with FC Lakeside, Joseph Gray netting for Dursley and James Vercesi for Lakeside.

Jamie Martin hit a hat-trick for fourth-placed Brockworth Albion in their 3-1 win over Bibury, who replied through Harrison Archer.

Tewkesbury Town came from a goal down to beat Lydney Town Reserves 3-1, Jamie Goodwin, Scott Nicholls and Nathan Newland-galloway on target.

Division Two leaders Whaddon United came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with second-placed Staunton and Corse.

Liam James and Dan Gittings put Staunton in the driving seat, but Whaddon hit back through Zack Hodges and Kevin Slack to stay a point clear at the top with five games in hand.

Rodborough Old Boys are two points behind Staunton in third, having played four fewer games, after beating Chesterton 6-0 with goals from Alfie Bradshaw (two), Josh Kerr, Jamie Walker, Tom Howarth and Marshall Stokes.

Ollie Morris and Dan Smith gave fourth-placed Barnwood United a 2-0 win over Mushet & Coalway United, while Frampton United Reserves edged out King’s Stanley 3-2.

Matt Halsey, Tom Mangan and Stan Shilton netted for fifth-placed Frampton, Stanley’s replies coming from Morgan Beachus and Lloyd Gardiner.

Harrow Hill were edged out 3-2 by Lydbrook Athletic despite goals for Jack Dalby and Darren Weyman, while a late Daryl Addis double gave Viney St Swithins a 2-1 win over Falcons, who led through Sam Powell.
