Welcoming the lighter, brighter days of spring this Easter weekend

-

» AS the clocks change this Easter weekend, the lighter, brighter and hopefully warmer days herald the arrival of a new season after the dark days of winter, a time to embrace the promise of spring and its positive impact on our collective spirits and wellbeing.

Spring is a time to come out from the cocoon of the sofa and the fireside, and there’s plenty to keep mind, body and spirit engaged this long Easter weekend with The Cheltenham Trust.

Young visitors will love challenging themselves with The Wilson’s arty Easter egg hunt, running every day until April 7, from 10am during gallery opening hours.

Young hunters can pick up a trail map and head off across the galleries to find all the hidden Easter eggs and crack the secret code, picking out a prize from the giant lucky dip egg nest.

The popular Creative Explorers’ artist led holiday club is also back until April 3, for children aged from five to ten, who love to make, share and play.

Over at the Garden Bar Orangery, the trust has joined forces with the Cheltenham Swing Dance Festival, bringing free taster dance lessons to the community for the Easter weekend, Saturday March 30 and Sunday March 31.

On Saturday there’s line dancing, the Charleston, an introduction to partner swing dancing and dance roots Africa, and live music from The Moonlight Band 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

Sunday features dance moves from the 1960s, Charleston fitness, and live music from 12.30pm to 2pm with vintage singer Miss Em. All events are free of charge and suitable for both experienced dancers and those who have not danced before. To find out more visit www.cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk

Or why not just take in and enjoy the colours, scents and views of spring from the Heritage Café at Pittville Pump Room and soak up all the positivity that the new season has to offer, over a cup of coffee and specially baked Easter muffin, of course.
