Cleevewold cheer for Almosts’ Lewis
» A LARGE contingent of Almost Athletes took part in a variety of long and short distance races, with Nick Lewis finishing first in the 14 mile Cleevewold Race in 1:40:48.
Christopher Benjamin completed his first ultra event at the Running Tribes Ultra, finishing third over 50K.
At the Berkeley 20, Matt Barnes was first for the club, in 2:16:55, third in age category and setting a club record.
John Rea 2:37:00 (third in age category) and Olga Goffin in 2:40:54 were next with Allan Green, in 3:09:54, and Dave Elliot, in 3:16:29, also third in their age categories.
Four runners took part in the Weston-super Half and Steven Wood was first for the club in 1:43:01 followed by Mike Smith (1:43:28), Sarah Wood (1:54:34) and Heather Smith (2:22:30).
As part of the club’s off-road running series, 28 Almosts took part at the Forest of Dean Spring half marathon.
First for the club was Steve Axford in 1:33:41 followed by Isobel Atkin in 1:40:03 and third in her age category and Sue Pearce was not far behind in 1:41:03.

Ian and Sally Mckinlay travelled to the Grasmere 10k, completing the distance in 1:04:52 and 1:07:07 respectively.
At Walsall Arboretum parkrun, Patricia Dendy completed the 5k in a club record of 19:29.
Another 82 club members took part in parkruns with Peter Mitchener first in his age category in 21:57 at Cheltenham, while first in his category at Dinton Pastures was Neil Tring in 22:37.
