Long performs well in double weekend

» BOURTON Roadrunner­s’ in-form veteran Darren Long started his weekend by running the Berkeley Fission 20 mile race, part of the Gloucester­shire AAA road race series, in 2:19.27.

He was accompanie­d by Kevin Goodwill (2:38:03) and Linda Edwards (3:40:52), before he travelled to Weston Super Mare with partner and fellow club member Maxine Emes for the Weston Half Marathon, finishing in 1:40:20 and 1:40:21, both finishing 10th in their age categories

Danny Hannig put in a fine performanc­e at the Banbury 15, finishing seventh in 1:33.41, while Steph Holton and Catherine Wheeler travelled to North Devon and ran Pound the Pound, a multi-terrain event covering as many 4.3Km laps of the Wistlandpo­und Reservoir as possible within a six-hour time limit.

The pair finished joint-first ladies completing 14 laps, a full lap ahead of the second lady.

Clair Cox opted for the Cleevewold 14, organised by Cheltenham Harriers, starting and finishing at Postlip Tithe Barn, and she finished 46th.

Susan Hunt travelled to Milton Keynes for the Twin Lakes 20, finishing sixth in her category in 3:21.39.
