What’s in my bag for 2021?
The 2021 season is underway and I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time testing all the new kit. Here’s what’s earned a spot in my bag…
Driver: Titleist TSI3
l
I love the new shape and in terms of ball speed, it’s the fastest driver I’ve tested. Not only that, but I feel more in control of direction than I ever have, so I’m confident I can find more fairways.
Fairway: Cobra Radspeed
l
This is undoubtedly the most versatile option out there for me. I like to use a fairway wood both off the tee and the deck, and with some of the dodgy lies I put myself in, the sole rails help get me out of trouble more often than not.
Hybrid: Callaway Apex 21 Pro
l
The extra loft of this 20° model and smaller size mean it isn’t the longest option out there, but it hits the 215-yard carry I want and I can really work the ball with it – high, low, right-to-left, left-to-right, it does it all.
Irons: Taylormade P770/P7MC
l
Recently replacing my P760s, which I loved, the P770s are just as consistent. With the P7MCS in the 8-iron to PW, I’ve got something that looks a little sleeker and provides greater precision on those scoring shots where a yard or two really matters.
Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM8
l
I love the versatility the D-grind offers in the 54°, the club I use most around the greens, but my 58° Vokey SM7 D-grind has stayed in because I feel most comfortable with it when playing from the sand.
Putter: Ping 2021 Anser 4
l
This may change a few times in the coming months, but for now it’s the new Ping 2021 Anser 4. It feels very soft but has good speed to it and I just love the look and how it sits behind the ball, as well as the new tacky pistol grip.
l Ball: 2021 Titleist Pro V1x
l Bag: Titleist Players 4 Plus Stadry
l Laser: Motocaddy Pro 3000
l Shot Tracking: Arccos Caddie
