Designer, Baldovino Mattiazzo, felt that the traditional golf shoe needed a makeover, and there’s no doubt that he’s achieved that. Contrasting piping on the soft, full-leather upper gives the
Elpaso an understated yet unique look. While it won’t be to everyone’s taste, we really like the style on offer here, especially as it means it can be worn away from the course as well.
It’s available in two colours – navy and white – meaning there is some versatility to match the shoe to most outfits in your wardrobe.
STYLE AND SUBSTANCE

Thankfully, it’s not a case of one or the other. This is also a very comfortable shoe, with much thought going into that side of its design. Underfoot cushioning comes from a breathable and soft Arneflex insole, which is memory foam covered in a recyclable microfibre material.
You get a feeling of your foot really being ‘locked in’, too, thanks to a heel support made from recycled cork. It’s often overlooked, but there’s no point having a shoe packed with comfort if it doesn’t fit properly or provide support. Throughout testing, we never left the course in any discomfort.
Other features include the On Steam technology that provides waterproof protection in the inner lining, meaning your feet will be comfortable and dry even if you get caught in a shower.
Then there’s the Airplay XI outsole, whose multitude of traction nubs cover the base of the shoe to let you swing with total confidence from all kinds of lies.
