■ Waitrose Vibrant, Smooth & Refreshing £1.69 for 325g Rich, smooth and mouthwateringly tart, but with plenty of sweetness. Testers praised the buttery, lemony flavour. 82/100

JOINT RUNNERS-UP

■ Tesco Finest Zesty £1.65 for 320g With its glossy sheen and milky yellow colour, this curd is very appealing. The bitter notes work pleasantly with the sour tang and sweetness. Delightfully thick and creamy, but some found it slightly cloying. 80/100

■ Marks & Spencer Sicilian £2 for 325g Beautifully rich, the curd has a sharp, zesty tang and a freshness that is moreish. General smoothness is lovely, but there are small hard bits of lemon rind that some testers didn’t enjoy. 80/100 ✶ All products were blind-tested at the GHI
