Working our MAGIC
THE HAIR
Colourist Jack at Headmaster’s Camden used tones of honey and sandy blonde that blended in with Jenni’s natural colour, so she won’t get such a harsh regrowth line. Jack wove lighter pieces around her hairline to accentuate her cheekbones and eyes, while a final glossing treatment adds shine and softness. Texture was added to the lengths and ends by cutting in layers to create movement and volume.
THE MAKE-UP
To enhance Jenni’s warm complexion, Liz used a lightweight powder-based mineral foundation, which allowed her natural skin tone and freckles to show through. Smoky-toned shades of plum and aubergine eyeshadow in the Bareminerals Bare Sensuals Ready Eyeshadow 14.0 Palette, £39, complement Jenni’s eye colour, while a pop of copper eyeshadow in the middle of the eyelid creates a flattering contrast.
THE CLOTHES
With her height and slim figure, Jenni looks fabulous in this loose velvet trouser suit. Sparkly, embellished trainers add a fun twist to her new look.
THE RESULT
‘Having a makeover may seem superficial, but actually it can have a profound effect on the way you see yourself, and it does wonders for your self-esteem,’ says Jenni. ‘I love having long hair, but so many people seem to think that when they reach a certain age, they should get it cut short. I feel that it’s part of my personality and the hair stylist agreed that my hair suited me long. I was delighted with the new colour and it was lovely to leave
the salon with shiny locks.’
