WELCOME TO A MONTH OF CELEBRATION, INSPIRATION...
And a lot of chocolate! The GH team love putting together the now iconic December cover (think children, animals and that magical family scene), so we thought: why not create this for Easter, too? To me, this April cover says spring, family, food, good times and a promise of the sunshine to come. We had fun shooting it – even the model rabbits behaved beautifully (who knew you could teach a bunny to sit up on command?). Let me know what you think.
Talking of Easter bunnies… This month, we’re bringing you the results of our annual chocolate eggs-travaganza! Picture the scene: you start the year with a firm intention to Get A Grip. Then you walk into work and find 142 Easter eggs waiting to be Tried & Tested. Ho hum. I know – it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it... I’m not complaining! You can pay a fortune for Easter treats these days, so don’t part with a penny until you read the results from the Good Housekeeping Institute eggs-perts! You’ll also find a collection of recipes for seasonal bakes, including the lemon and poppy seed cake on the cover. As with all GH recipes, it’s Triple-tested – and it’s good!
On a sadder note, this month’s Sandi Toksvig column will be her final one for Good Housekeeping. For 15 years, Sandi’s been making us giggle with her Last Laugh page and, more recently, at the start of the magazine. We’ve loved working with her and will miss her wise words! But, as you’ve no doubt noticed, Sandi is busy taking over the world! What with QI, The Great British Bake Off and exciting plans for 2018, she is taking a break. So it’s au revoir to Sandi, and to our brilliant illustrator, Clare Mackie, but not goodbye... no one ever really leaves the GH family!
