1 SPICE INFUSION… East London Liquor Company, London Dry Gin (£32, Harvey Nichols)

An indulgent, toasty, gingerspiced orange and butter-mint aroma is followed by cardamom with liquorice, coriander and a smooth herby, citrus finish. Fabulous for a classic G&T, garnished with a slice of lime.

2 HERBAL TWIST… Daffy’s Premium Gin (£35.99, Waitrose)

Light and smooth, with fruity, herbal aromas, this has a peppery warmth and lots of anise, citrus and minty flavours. Serve with Fever-tree Mediterranean tonic (£1.80 for 50cl, Ocado), fresh lime and a sprig of mint.

3 CITRUS PACKED… Malfy Gin Rosa (£27.95, Amazon)

This tangy, citrusy gin is a delicate pink colour and packed with zingy pink grapefruit, pink peppercorn and juniper flavours. Try it with London Essence Co. Grapefruit & Rosemary Tonic Water (£3.49 for 4 x 20cl, Ocado).

4 FLORAL & LIGHT…

Old Curiosity Secret Garden Apothecary Rose Gin (£35.95, theoldcuriosity. co.uk and John Lewis & Partners) Elegant, floral and light, this is a truly classy act. Pretty rose flavours with a beautiful softness make this perfect to drink at any time of year.

5 ALCOHOL-FREE… Chastity No Sin Gin Seduction (£20, Ocado)

There are even gins for teetotallers, and Chastity No Sin Gins are superb alcoholfree options. The hibiscus and rose-flavoured Seduction is fruity, soft and elegant – ideal for gin lovers who want to lay off the liquor this winter.
