£4 for 120g 84/100 Light, smooth slices of salmon, with a soft, melting texture. The fish is pleasantly oily, with a delicate flavour and a good balance of saltiness and natural sweetness.

Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Smoked Hebridean Salmon

£7.50 for 200g 81/100 Testers loved this lean and thinly sliced salmon, which has a melt-in-the-mouth texture. The flavour has a woody smokiness to it, with a good level of saltiness and a sweeter, buttery note to finish.

The initial sweet and buttery flavour is followed by a good balance of salt and woody smokiness. The freshness of the fish, along with its smooth texture, appealed to our panel, though some felt it was a bit too salty.
