Dress to impress (yourself)

ELLA DOVE, COMMISSIONING EDITOR

I have always loved wearing bold clothes: think vintage patterned shirts, colourful leggings and big scarves tied in my hair. But over much of the last year, of course, I have not been going out in any of this, anywhere. However, tempting as it was to stay in oversized sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms in recent months, I decided that at least three times a week, I would pick some outfits that brought joy to my day. Here’s how it works: open your wardrobe, and take out the first thing that catches your eye. However overdressed you might feel, put it on. And as the day goes on, make sure you smile when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. Dress the part and you’ll feel the part.

Trust me, it works.
