Going outside to exercise, most often for a daily walk but also running, cycling or other sport, is your favourite way of exercising. (Check out our guide to winter exercise on page 80.) •

Nearly half of you have got caught up in the cycling craze, getting on your bike either regularly or occasional­ly, and cycling now beats pool-swimming for popularity among you. Outdoor swimming gets the vote from one in five and wild swimmers are an intrepid one in 10. •

When it comes to core strength, flexibilit­y and balance, yoga comes top as a frequent or occasional form of exercise (48%), followed by Pilates (42%). •

A third of you (34%) are running, either regularly or occasional­ly; the same number love to dance; while 16% are Zumba lovers, either sometimes or often.
