VICTORIA & DAVID LAUNCH ‘SUPER BRAND BECKHAM’

-

TOGETHER, DAVID ANDVICTORIA

Beckham have conquered such diverse fields as pop music, sport, fashion and looking unfeasibly good in a pair of H&M briefs. Now it seems that the pair are planning to launch ‘Super Brand Beckham’ – by proving that the dynasty’s second generation is equally multitalented.

Last week, the family’s youngest son Cruz joined Instagram. The inclusion of a bio reading ‘Account managed by Scooter Braun Projects’ sparked speculation that the 11-year-old was being managed by the high-profile pop Svengali – famous for discovering Justin Bieber on Youtube aged 12. It followed rumours in August, when industry figures told Grazia Scooter had been for secret meetings with David

to discuss the possibility of guiding his brood’s flflfledgling careers. At the time, a representative for Victoria denied any professional involvement between Scooter and the Beckhams. Then, just days after appearing on Instagram, Cruz premiered his debut single, If Every Day Was Christmas, with profififits going to Global’s Make Some Noise charity.

His fififirst foray into the world of music came less than a week after the announcement of brother Brooklyn’s debut book, What I See. Released by Penguin next May, the 17-year-old’s first collection of photography promises to offer a ‘rare glimpse at the world through his eyes’. Brooklyn has previously shot the Burberry Brit Fragrance campaign, and created a photo diary for Spanish clothing label Pull&bear.

With music, photography and modelling (courtesy of Romeo’s appearance in Burberry’s 2015 Christmas campaign) covered, it’s fallen to the Beckhams’ youngest to take up Victoria’s mantel as a designer. A stick fifigure drawn by Harper, five, features on the charity T-shirt created by Victoria to benefit World AIDS Day 2016. Discussing their collaboration, Victoria said, ‘This year, for the first time (and along with a little help from Harper), I’ve created an adults’ T-shirt with a matching mini-version for children too.’ Proceeds from the T-shirts, available to buy on Victoria’s website, will go to Born Free Africa, which works to eradicate the spread of disease between mothers and their children.

Speaking to Grazia in September, Victoria said of her children’s ambitions, ‘Brooklyn wants to be a photographer, obviously he shot the fragrance campaign for Burberry, so maybe he’ll be a fashion photographer. Romeo enjoyed working with Burberry too and Cruz is still quite little. They all love fashion, and they take a lot of pride in the way that they look. When we go out for dinner as a family, they all put their little looks together, Cruz spends quite a lot of time making sure his hair is just right. But schoolwork always comes first. If they do work projects, they’ve got to want to do it, it’s got to be fun. For me and David, it’s all about prioritising.’
