Grazia (UK)

There’s one thing we all have more of as we get older – opinions. And 70-year-old icon Susan Sarandon was more vocal than most when she sounded off to Grazia’s Hannah Flint last week about why it would have been patronising to vote for Hillary Clinton, how Donald Trump’s been a disruptive force for good in American politics and what she thinks is wrong with pornography. In fact, she’s so outspoken, she told Hannah she might never work again after our breathtaking interview on page 10.

Meanwhile, the public were making their feelings known to the Beckhams last week, criticising them for seeming to hold Harper’s sixth birthday at Buckingham Palace. It’s the latest in a number of vitriolic outbursts Victoria has had to endure recently, and the designer understandably can’t wait for some respite from the rancour. See page 14 for more.

Also this week, we ask if Rushing Woman’s Syndrome (the manic merry-go-round most of us can’t deny we’re stuck on) is affecting our hormone balance. On page 25, writer Helen Russell talks about how after years of unexplained fertility she now has three children under three. How did she do it? She downsized her to-do list and upgraded her downtime.

Plus, after shocking and public racial attacks on and from British politicians, writer June Eric-udorie wonders why the UK considers discrimination everyone else’s problem, when black women like her have to face it every day.

Finally, hold on to your hats (literally) because we’ve got a bumper A/W ’17 fashion special, starting on page 53, which includes the 15 trends you need to know about, plus pre-fall finds that’ll get you ahead of the game. Thrillingly, prices start from £12.50. Ready, set, shop!
