Me, my selfie and I

-

JO WOOD, 62

We ask the businesswoman and former model to take a selfie – and reveal all

Who is your hero?

Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte Trogneux. She’s an older woman with a cool husband who she’s very influential over. And she has great style!

What are you most proud of?

My family. That my kids are all sane and well-grounded. I always felt it was important to take the time to listen to them and be very truthful with them.

What’s your biggest regret?

Years ago, I cut off all my hair. A hairdresser convinced me I’d look great, but it looked awful. Always listen to yourself. What do your friends tease you about? My organicness. Keith Richards once said to me, ‘The trouble with you, Jo, is that you’re addicted to organic food.’ I said, ‘That’s great coming from you!’

What did you think about before falling asleep last night?

My business and selling my house. I’m buying somewhere smaller because I want to be in a flat.

Who do you call in a crisis?

My brother Paul. He listens to me. It used to be my mother, but she died 18 months ago.

What song do you never skip?

Revelryy by Kings of Leon. When I was first single again [after her split from Ronnie Wood in 2013] I went to V Festival and they were playing. For years I’d listened to the Stones and suddenly didn’t want to any more. I just fell in love with them, and particularly that song. What’s your go-to dinner party anecdote? When I was in Ireland with Ronnie, we were at a club called Lillie’s Bordello. I hadn’t even had a drink but I tripped up the stairs, caught my hand, rolled down the stairs and broke two fingers. I ended up at the feet of Bryan Adams [below]. Ronnie goes, ‘Jo, meet Bryan Adams!’ and I just said hello from the floor. It was so embarrassing!

What from your past would you like to delete from the internet?

Some awful pictures of me and Sarah Harding, after I got absolutely paralytic and we got papped. Who owes you an apology?

My ex-husband. Tell us a secret.

I go boxing twice a week. I fell in love with it in Miami fifive years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. What’s the biggest misconception about you? People think I’m snotty and that I’ll be vain. Some have said, ‘Gosh Jo, you’re so normal!’ What do you expect? What advice would you give your younger self? To start exercising earlier. I didn’t start until my late forties.
