Never was this more true than last week. First came reports that Katy was hooking up with old friend Robert Pattinson, after they were spotted looking intimate on a Saturday-night dinner date. Sources quickly denied claims that they were more than good friends, insisting that Robert was still engaged to FKA twigs, despite her being seen minus her engagement ring and on a beach with a handsome male model in Ibiza. But that was just the start.
A week later, photos of Katy, 32, and her ex Orlando Bloom, 40, kissing and holding hands at an Ed Sheeran concert in Los Angeles provoked talk of a reunion.
An eyewitness said, ‘They definitely seemed like they’re back together. They cuddled most of the night. She sat on his lap and shared kisses.’
According to one well-placed source, ‘Katy never lost touch with Orlando and always hoped they’d get back together. But the problem is, deep down, she knows that nothing has changed with him and she’s just going back to the same guy who is still not ready to settle down. He enjoys his bachelor status too much.’
Apparently, friends of the singer have cautioned her against rekindling her relationship with Orlando. ‘They don’t think he will make her happy. Katy is the fifirst to admit she has issues when it comes to dating and her own self-worth. Those close to her feel getting back with Orlando would be disastrous.’
Just a day after his reunion with Katy, Orlando was pictured cosying up to a mystery blonde on a California beach.
The pair split in February after almost a year of dating, announcing in a joint statement, ‘Before rumours or falsififications get out of hand, we can confifirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.’ Shortly before this, Orlando was pictured laughing and whispering with Erin Mccabe (daughter of Les Mccabe, president of environmental organisation Global Green) at the Global Green pre-oscars party at Tao nightclub. Katy dismissed reports he’d cheated by tweeting, ‘HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017!? U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!’
‘Katy feels very loyal to Orlando,’ added the source, ‘but she doesn’t always act in her own best interests.’
