J-law ‘inseparable’ from ex, nic
HER RELATIONSHIP WITH Darren Aronofsky has been marred by controversy – most recently when Grazia revealed that an extra had accused the director of ‘abusing’ the actor on set – now it seems Jennifer Lawrence is seeking solace in her ex, Nicholas Hoult. The pair, who are currently filming X-men:
Dark Phoenixx in Montreal, have been spending increasing amounts of time together, with one insider describing them as ‘inseparable’.
‘Since they’ve been in Montreal, Jennifer has barely left Nic’s side,’ said the source. ‘They have the kind of connection that means, even when they’ve spent long periods apart, once they’re back together it’s like nothing has changed. When they split up it was amicable and they always maintained a friendship, but while filming the latest instalment, they’ve spent more time in each other’s company than ever before.’ Jennifer is said to be a frequent presence on Nic’s private Snapchat, and in recent weeks they have been spotted at the Montreal Roller Derby, enjoying an intimate meal and attending a Guns N’ Roses concert.
‘It’s prompted whispers that there could be unfinished business – one of the new crew members didn’t realise Jennifer had a boyfriend and assumed she and Nic were an item,’ added the source. ‘Even her friends are secretly hoping that she and Nic could work things out. Some of them are quite disapproving of Darren, whereas nobody has a bad word to say about Nic.’
Jennifer and Nicholas, both 27, met while filming X-men: First Class in 2010, and split in 2014. She began dating film director Darren, 48, last year, after meeting him on the set of thriller Mother! Earlier this month, Grazia reported that an extra from the production wrote on Facebook, ‘I’m mind blown by… [Jennifer’s] undying patience and devotion in what she does. I would have personally walked out that door ASAP. Swallowing the amount of crap and yelling [Jennifer] has to take in and redoing a perfect performance over and over a hundred times for a fussy boss. Abuse is abuse, no matter what job you do or how much you’re paid.’
Speaking to US Vogue, Jennifer later gave credence to the allegations when she described how she had hyperventilated and dislocated a rib during filming. ‘I ended up getting on oxygen,’ she said. ‘I have oxygen tubes in my nostrils, and Darren’s like, “It was out of focus; we’ve got to do it again.” I was just like, ‘Go fuck yourself.’’’
‘Darren has a reputation for being difficult both on and off set,’ said the source. ‘Some people close to Jennifer are worried she may end up getting hurt and, while she insists she and Nic are just good friends, they’re holding out hope she could end up getting back with him.’
