ALICIA AND MICHAEL PLAN ‘TOP SECRET WEDDING’
It was just weeks ago that Grazia revealed how Michael Fassbender had finally settled down, moving to the countryside outside London with girlfriend Alicia Vikander, and telling friends he ‘thinks he could marry her’. Now it seems that the couple are moving at breakneck speed, with insiders confirming that they are already planning a top-secret wedding next month.
According to one source familiar with the situation, ‘They’re getting married in Ibiza, where they’ve holidayed together before, but the details are being closely guarded. Michael is so privacy-conscious that even guests don’t know exactly what the plan is, they’ve just been told when to arrive on the island. He’s paying for them all to stay in the same five-star resort, but hasn’t revealed which one for fear of the exact location getting out.’
Friends of the couple say that they’ve seen a marked change in Michael, 40, since meeting Alicia, 28, on the set of The Light Between Oceans in 2014. ‘Few would have pictured him getting married, but it’s obvious that he’s extremely serious about Alicia, and she him. Like their relationship, the wedding plans have been kept very low-profile, but it’s been on the cards for a while. It won’t be a starry, Hollywood celebration, they’re keeping it to close friends and family. They have zero interest in being a power couple, and nobody knows if they’ll even confirm the marriage once it has happened.’
Indeed, both actors have been keen to keep their romance out of the spotlight, with Alicia saying last year, ‘I think we’ve made a clear statement that we keep certain things just between us. It was very easy to unite, but that’s quite personal.’ Meanwhile, Michael’s only public concession that they are dating was when he told a journalist, ‘It just happened. It’s good that it happened. It is what it is.’
