When a Grazia staffer first visited Dr Stefanie, she was characteristically German (read: efficient) in her approach – she overhauled her skincare regime and identified the specific products and brands responsible for her list of skincare woes. With no skincare line of her own, it’s refreshing to hear that Dr Stefanie is a vocal proponent of the ever affordable La Roche-posay, a brand whose success, she says, lies in its simplicity.
What’s her thing? Dr Stefanie bridges the gap between medical and cosmetic dermatology, something that’s reflected in her clinic, EUDELO. She baulks at the thought of adults treating medical skincare conditions in prettified beauty salons (EUDELO is reassuringly clinical with hints of luxe). ‘Piling decadently rich lotions and potions on skin may feel instantly gratifying, but it aggravates and exacerbates adult acne and rosacea no end,’ she says.
Who should visit? Those who are coming to terms with the idea that mortgages and adult acne aren’t mutually exclusive. ‘I see more adults with problem skin than children,’ she says. For adult acne and rosacea, ‘face oils are a total no-no. People think their skin is dry, but it’s often micro-inflammation, and heavy formulas serve only to numb the sensation, not ameliorate the problem’.
