A touch of precious metal is the coolest way to luxe up your look this season

THERE AREN’T many shades that are universally flattering. Black, of course, but also, unexpectedly, gold. ‘Done well, gold make-up captivates,’ says international make-up artist Mel Arter.

Indeed, it’s a pigment that continues to be reimagined on the world’s runways season after season, proving that our fascination with this most precious metal is going nowhere. Gold is diverse in what it offers, too. ‘ With a shift of the undertone, or a tweak of texture, gold can be subtle, extrovert, subversive, futuristic, classic or whatever,’ says Mel.
