WHEN HOLLYWOOD’S GIRL of the year is a 50-year-old woman, that’s cause for celebration. And we are very much on-board with celebrating Laura Dern. She was deliciously close to the edge as a frenzied alpha mum in Big Little Lies, and fully owned the Twin Peaks reboot with a cigarette in one hand and martini in the other. She tops off 2017 with a pivotal role (no spoilers here!) in
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, sparking the hashtag #Spacedern. And despite being Hollywood royalty, she’s refreshingly carefree, having the BEST TIME EVER at the premiere, Instagramming lols pictures posing with Stormtroopers in her Alexander Mcqueen gown. When recently asked about getting older, she declared, ‘It’s amazing, because now I really don’t give a shit,’ before adding, ‘It’s so sexy to not give a shit.’ Amen to that.
